There are times when a burden is so great, so seemingly insurmountable, that it totally saps our strength. Out of exhaustion and a spirit of surrender we may declare, “There’s nothing I can do now but pray.” It sounds admirable, even spiritual. However, implied in that common expression is a belief that God’s domain is everything I can’t handle on my own. Yet, the Bible says we are to surrender all of our concerns to Him because He cares for us (1 Pet 5:7). This is an act of worship. When we make every concern a matter of prayer, not only does it liberates us of the burden, but it welcomes God’s presence into all of our endeavors.
Your thoughts? Is there a concern you’ve unwittingly allowed to become a burden?
Just wanted to thank you for your Iron Works Ministry you and Roger are doing. We are following behind a series or two doing the sword mastery series with Men at my Church. Last night we did mastering your thoughts. What a great discussion we had.
