Thought for the Day – C.S. Lewis on God’s presence

We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade the presence of God. The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito.” – C.S. Lewis

C.S. Lewis reminds us that there are two ways in which we can approach our day. We can either be cognizant or ignorant of God’s presence. Neither approach changes the reality of His presence, but it can change the amount of joy in our lives. How much more enjoyable it is to approach our day as explorers, rather than mere survivors, seeing God among the people that crowd our day. The writer to the Hebrews similarly reminds us to give hospitality to those we might otherwise ignore (Heb 13:2) because angels, too, walk among us incognito.

Your thoughts? How have you seen God’s presence in your world lately?
