Thought for the Day – G. Patton on Cynicism

Watch what people are cynical about and one can often discover what they lack.”– George Patton

The world has no shortage of cynics or things to be cynical about. In fact, if you’re a wayward cynic in need of a good curmudgeonly rousing, you can visit the Cynic Sanctuary and find 714 things to be cynical about. Or just read the comments on any sports blog. Nearly two centuries earlier, the Bible warned of it. “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.” (Rom 2:1) Now, that’s straight talk to shorten the list of even the most habitual cynic.
