Today is Good Friday, a day when Christians all across the world reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for their redemption. God’s gift of salvation to us through the death of His Son—the very good news, gospel message—has been described with so many theological words, that it’s easy to become desensitized to its meaning. In its deepest essence, Jesus described it in one word: love. Now, that’s a relatable word! Those who love another forget themselves for the the sake of their beloved. It’s deeply intimate. And Jesus demonstrated the highest measure of love by putting His life on the line not just for one of His beloved, but intimately for all mankind and for all eternity. “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (1 John 4:11)
Your thoughts? What are ways you can model Christ’s love today?
