The world is watching how we live our lives. From whom do we take our cues? Are we passively following the flow of the world’s value systems or actively going counter-culture as Jesus did? Where are our true loyalties? Ultimately, it’s a question of friendship. The Apostle James pointedly asks, “You adulterous people, don’t you know friendship with the world is hatred toward God?” (James 4:4). But how do we know if we’ve succumbed to “friendship with the world”?
