How many job changes have you had so far? According to one of the rare longitudinal studies on careers, the average number of job transitions among baby boomers is just over 11. That’s a lot of change. And a lot of opportunity to carry forward some unhealthy thinking about yourself in the process.

Even in the best of jobs we’re constantly interacting with unhealthy people. That can’t be avoided. What can be avoided, however, is the lingering effect those interactions have on us. That’s where a job cleanse can be helpful.

In this week’s episode of the Reinventure Me podcast, my co-host, Armin Assadi and I explore five strategies we can take to detoxify from a former job. We talk and laugh about some of the worst jobs out there and share some of our own challenges to maintain truth in the midst of a toxic situation, even when we don’t know it’s toxic.
