“When it rains, it pours.” So the idiom goes.
One bad thing happens in my day and suddenly my mind is on high alert to other calamities. Suddenly they’re everywhere. It’s as if the world has turned against me. Or worse, God himself.
Of course, it’s not true. The calamities that come in your life and mine are to remind us that we are not in control of our world. That we won’t live forever. Nor that we should demand a life free of challenge.
All good reminders to keep us from becoming arrogant or thinking that we possess anything that God hasn’t given us.
So rise up. Shake off the thought that world’s turned against you and show them what bulldog tenacity looks like in you.
