Quitting the dream, stress, and Pluto [Venture Kindling]

This Venture Kindling post feature short bits of information I’ve tripped across or developed that can help you light a fire or revive a fire for your venture.

Quitting the dream, stress, and Pluto

Kindling from the web:

Time to quit your dream? Writing for Harvard Business Review, Disrupt Yourself author Whitney Johnson asks the question, Should you give up on your new dream? She offers five questions you can ask yourself to decide whether you should hang-in there with your career or business or find a quick exit. I would add one more to her list: Is fear keeping you from quitting? Bite hard. It just might be time to quit something. (For more from Whitney, stay tuned. I’ll be interviewing her on the next episode of the Reinventure Me podcast).

There is no stress. It may not feel like it, but that stress you feel, well…There’s no such thing as stress. Clinical psychologist Robert Maurer, explains in Fast Company that stress is just a symptom and our efforts to manage it skirt the underlying cause: fear. There. Now I’ve said the “F” word twice in as many paragraphs. Enough to give you pause to read what’s next.

Going to Pluto? The folks at Adobe put together a pretty funny commercial about their Adobe Marketing Cloud. I rather look at it as an excellent reminder not to make Exuberance my addiction.

Latest personal kindling:

Renaissance week. Are you a renaissance soul? That’s been the focus question this week on my blog (read the review) and my podcast. If you’re a renaissance soul, I welcome you to join in on the discussion on either site.
